Extra info: |
As M886 Onverschrokken ("Onversaagd" class ocean minesweeper) in service until 1965. Afterwards she was reallocated as escort vessel A856 and in 1972 converted into a torpedo ship A856 Mercuur. After her final deployment in 1987, the ship was given a new life as a museum ship in the port of Scheveningen (NL). But her owners decided in 2015 to stop the exploitation of the museum ship, after there was asbestos found on her. The ship was transferred to the Royal Navy on 15/12/2015 and was moored back in Den Helder, awaiting disposal or scrap. Since 2017 the Mercuur is in Vlissingen where after maintenance it will be reopened for the public |
