On 06/09/2014, around 05.00 in the morning, Samskip Akrafell stranded at Vattarnes, between Reydarfjordur and Faskrudsfjordur in Iceland.
Rescue team came shortly and the 13 man crew was safe.

She was declared total loss and scrapped later that year in Esbjerg (DK)
