On 24 October 2006 she suffered from total engine failure, and was driven ashore by a storm on the south coast of the Ile de Ré. The vessel was anchored, but the stern of the vessel hit a rocky outcrop 1 natutical mile south of Couarde sur mer. The following day, the divers carried out detected a breach 20 metres long and 50 centimetres wide. On 2nd April, a fire started onboard the Rokia Delmas. On 9 March 2007, the salvage company began to remove the superstructures of the wreck. The last section of hull was hoisted out of the port of La Pallice on the evening of 28 November.
